The inaugural Claus Cause 5K & Elf Dash Fun Run takes place December 12 at The Avenues Mall, benefiting Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida.
JACKSONVILLE, FL – Looking for a holiday 5K in Jacksonville? A new Christmas running tradition is coming to town! The inaugural Claus Cause 5K & Elf Dash takes place Saturday, December 12, 2026, at The Avenues Mall, bringing runners, walkers and families together for a festive morning of fitness, fun and giving back.
Hosted by Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida, this Christmas-themed 5K welcomes everyone, from competitive runners chasing a personal best to families looking for a fun way to celebrate the holiday season.
A Christmas 5K with a Festive Twist
The Claus Cause 5K begins at 8:00 AM and features a chip-timed course with overall and age group awards. Participants will receive a Santa or Mrs. Claus suit (while supplies last), a custom race bib and a festive finisher medal.
Families searching for a kids' fun run in Jacksonville can join the holiday festivities, too! The Elf Dash Fun Run welcomes children for a non-competitive Christmas run complete with an elf hat, custom race bib and finisher medal.
Every Step Supports a Great Cause
More than a holiday race, the Claus Cause 5K is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of local girls.
Proceeds benefit Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida, helping provide scholarships that make its confidence-building programs accessible to more girls throughout the community.
In the spirit of holiday giving, the event is also partnering with The Sanctuary on 8th Street for a donation drive benefiting local children and families. Participants are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped gifts or requested essential items to help spread holiday cheer beyond the finish line.

Whether you're exploring Jacksonville 5K races, looking for a family-friendly holiday event or ready to chase your next personal best, the Claus Cause 5K offers a festive way to celebrate the season while supporting local girls.
